Telescopic linear ball bearings comprise two linear ball bearings connected to each other at the carriage rails. They are used, for example, for handling and automation applications or in jig and fixture construction for movement in a straight direction when large strokes are required with a small size of the guideways. The double arrangement has the advantage that the radial as well as axial load carrying capacity is equally high and that it proves to be insensitive to contamination in practice. Runner bars and running rails are of the same length. Both rails can be extended to such an extent that a stroke of more than the basic length l1 is achieved. If the stop screws are removed from the runner rails, a stroke of the runner rails on both sides becomes possible. The limitation of the max. stroke should be ensured by external elements. The rail stops serve to protect against unintentional extraction of the running rails.
