Non-conductive weighing material, e.g. plastic, porcelain, glass etc. is often electrostatically charged. The resulting electromagnetic field between the sample and the balance can falsify the weighing result down to the gram range. Therefore, for weighing in the milligram range or finer, neutralization of the electrostatic charge with the KERN AC corona discharge ionizer is recommended. It can be conveniently placed next to the balance by means of the leveling feet or directed by hand from several sides to a critical sample
