Clamping bolts have a rounded wedge surface. They enable fast and safe clamping and releasing with a relatively large adjustment range and high clamping force. Due to the small pitch angle (wedge angle), the clamping bolt is self-locking. The ball handles of shapes KV and GV are positively connected to the spiral eccentric via serration. During assembly, the position of the lever can thus be fixed in a clamping position favourable to the spiral eccentric. The screw bolt and thrust washer (see design information) are matched to each other in such a way that the clamping bolt can be turned easily after it has been screwed tight. Due to the use of the thrust washer, no special requirements are placed on the design of the threaded hole, e.g. fastening on tables with T-slots is also possible. Tension bolts offer the advantage that they can be rotated after loosening from the clamping area. In conjunction with clamping ledgers, the use of ball-type clamping screws with a flattened ball is recommended.
