Indexing plungers with release lock are used to prevent the indexing plunger from being retracted unintentionally. The protruding plunger pin can only be unlocked for retraction by axially pressing the red pushbutton. Locking takes place automatically in the front end position, i.e. with the plunger pin protruding, by means of the locking mechanism which is completely housed in the operating knob and thus protected against malfunctions.
