Reversible handles are used on cranks and handwheels, for example, if the handle must not be locked in the operating position. To bring the handle into this position, it must first be pivoted through 90° against a torsion spring. It is then pushed in an axial direction against the spring force into a catch. The handle can then be cranked while maintaining the axial force. After "releasing", the compression spring pushes the handle out of the catch and the torsion spring swivels it back again.
