The cover cap protects the bearings against dirt and conceals fastening elements such as thrust washers. To attach the cover cap, the handwheel hub is provided with a groove in which the elastic segments of the cap engage. The cover cap is pressed on by hand and can be removed by lifting it out of the recess with a screwdriver. During assembly, the needle bearings are greased to ensure sufficient permanent lubrication.
