Safety star knobs are particularly suitable for applications in which accidental, careless loosening or adjustment can lead to accidents. When not actuated, the star knob is not connected to the screw insert, i.e. the star knob can be turned smoothly. Only when the star knob is pressed axially do the two serrations engage so that it can be loosened or tightened. After "releasing", the connection is released again by spring force.
