Hinges are made of drawn, weldable sectional steel. The shapes ST, STS and MS have a hinge pin firmly fixed in the lower hinge half. The STL type with a loose steel pin facilitates assembly when several hinges are mounted in parallel or the door is very heavy. The STS design has an additional grease nipple in the upper hinge half in accordance with DIN 71412-D, which allows the hinges to be relubricated without disassembly.
