High-strength, curved shackles are manufactured in accordance with the US Federal Specification RR-C-271 and are characterised by 6-fold safety. The minimum breaking load is therefore at least 6 times higher than the value of the nominal working load limit (WLL). The curved shape is particularly suitable for applications with multiple shackles. The nominal size and rated load capacity (WLL) are forged onto the shackle, making it easier to identify the sling. In general, the rated load capacity must not be exceeded. The design with nut and split pin (form B) is generally recommended for permanent connections. The bolts can rotate and the nuts are secured against unintentional loosening by a split pin.
