Spiral eccentrics enable fast and safe clamping and releasing with a relatively large adjustment range and high clamping force. The spiral not only offers the advantage that the clamping effect is the same over the entire clamping surface, i.e. in every angular position, but it is also self-locking in every position. The ball handles of shapes KV and GV are positively connected to the spiral eccentric by means of serrations. During assembly, the position of the lever can thus be fixed in a clamping position favourable to the spiral eccentric. The screw bolt and thrust washer (see design information) are matched to each other in such a way that the spiral eccentric can be turned easily after it has been screwed tight. Due to the use of the thrust washer, no special requirements are placed on the design of the threaded hole, e.g. mounting on tables with T-slots is also possible.
