Torque knurled knobs are used when the torque that can be applied by hand needs to be limited. The torque mechanism of the knurled handle triggers an "over-engagement" when the specified torque is reached when turning clockwise. When turning to the left, the mechanism locks so that there is no torque limitation. This ensures that a maximum permissible torque is not exceeded when tightening, for example. However, the torque required for loosening is always reliably transmitted.
