The permissible speed for DIN 808 universal joints with needle bearings is higher than for those with plain bearings, but also depends on the load, the operating time and the angle of deflection. Favourable operating conditions allow speeds of up to 4000 min-1. Due to the needle bearings, they have a significantly higher efficiency compared to plain bearing universal joints from a diffraction angle of 3° to 5°. The sealed needle bearings have permanent lubrication so that the joints are completely maintenance-free. The ordering example given applies to joints with the same bores d2 on both sides, see page 5.
