Clamping with wedge clamps takes place via the cylinder screw and the clamping wedge, which moves the two clamping jaws outwards. When the screw is loosened, the clamping wedge is returned via an internal return spring, releasing the tension. Wedge clamps are ideal for multiple clamping operations, but can also be used to clamp a single workpiece. The slotted hole in the clamping wedge is used to compensate for workpiece tolerances.
